Poultry hatchery tray lineage records for AI
A tray may change rooms while retaining its link to the source flock.
NAICS 112340 · Poultry Hatcheries
A tray may change rooms while retaining its link to the source flock. A model looking only at the current location could attach a hatch observation to the wrong origin. APHIS describes the National Poultry Improvement Plan and related poultry and hatchery context. An AI evaluation can use invented movements and focus on lineage rather than compliance. APHIS National Poultry Improvement Plan · APHIS Poultry Industry Manual
Build three records for a demo tray. The first ties it to an invented source. The second records a verified room transfer, and the third records an outcome. Add a separate tray from a different source using a similar position number. Ask the model to trace the outcome to the source and identify where another record is needed. Use a correction that changes the tray location without changing its origin.
Do not share real supplier and flock histories, hatch percentages, proprietary settings, or animal health files. Use mock tags or stills of empty training trays authorized by the hatchery.
Describe a tray lineage exercise
Original Fiund exercise
A corrected room location does not rewrite a tray's source flock
Three original mock tray records use empty-tray aliases and fictional source labels. They contain no actual flock history, settings, health data or hatch percentages.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| HT1 | Tray origin | Tray T1 links to source S-A. Tray T2 links to S-B; both use position number 7 at different times. |
| HT2 | Transfer and correction | T1 moves to Room R2. Reviewed correction changes current room to R3, explicitly retaining T1 and source S-A. |
| HT3 | Outcome card | Observation O1 explicitly references T1/position 7 after the corrected move. A second loose card says position 7 only, no tray or source ID. |
Question for the model
Which source does O1 trace to, and can the loose position-only observation be assigned to the same tray?
Show the reference answer and checks
HT1 and HT3 connect O1 to T1 and source S-A. HT2 changes T1's location, not its origin, so the corrected room does not transfer O1 to S-B. The loose position-seven card could refer to either tray under HT1's reused position number and lacks the needed identity link. Keep it unresolved rather than substituting a current location or position for source lineage.
- Changing source ancestry when only room location was corrected.
- Matching outcomes through a reused position number without tray identity.
Fields to preserve
- Tray and source alias
- Defines origin.
- Room transfer and correction scope
- Preserves location history.
- Outcome reference and position namespace
- Prevents ambiguous joins.
Test another case
Add the loose card's tray T2 reference. Require its source to resolve to S-B even though O1 used the same position number.
Use dummy tags and empty training props. Exclude supplier histories, proprietary settings and animal-health records; no compliance conclusion is made.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
