NAICS 561622 · Locksmiths

A locksmith can build a documentary test about who authorized a service request and which item the permission covers. The Census classification lists locksmiths separately from other security systems services. Use an original tabletop scenario about the work order and owner authorization, with no instructions for gaining access. U.S. Census 2022 NAICS manual

Make up two cabinet assets, an original request and a sign-off from a fictional property representative. Let the authorization apply to one asset only. Ask the model to cite the identifier and signer role and mark the second request for review. Include a renewed authorization that takes effect after the service request, to test date handling.

Use nonfunctional props and invented locations. Exclude key cuts, lock combinations, identification documents and real customer files. Keep service decisions with authorized staff.

Describe a fictional service authorization example

Original Fiund exercise

An owner-role sign-off can cover one cabinet without authorizing another

A tabletop paperwork exercise uses two nonfunctional cabinet props. It contains no working lock, key cut, combination, access method or real customer identity.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
LK1Request RDay 5 request covers mock assets CAB-A and CAB-B at an invented location.
LK2Owner-role authorizationSigned original card authorizes R/CAB-A only, effective days 1–7. CAB-B not included.
LK3Later renewalSigned card adds CAB-B from day 8 onward. No retroactive clause or separate day-5 CAB-B authority supplied.

Question for the model

Which asset matches the supplied day-5 authorization scope, and does the later renewal establish authority at that earlier date?

Show the reference answer and checks

LK1 and LK2 match the day-5 request for CAB-A within its stated effective interval. CAB-B is absent from that authorization. LK3 adds B beginning day eight without retroactive wording, so it does not supply day-five authority. Return the asset and date matches for authorized staff review rather than approve an actual service or infer access rights from a shared location or later document.

  • Extending one asset's sign-off to all assets at the same location.
  • Applying a later-effective authorization retroactively without a stated basis.

Fields to preserve

Request and cabinet alias
Defines the target.
Signer role and covered asset
Limits the stated scope.
Effective interval and renewal terms
Supports the date check.

Test another case

Ask about day 9 while removing CAB-A's renewal. Require B's scope to match and A's earlier card to be treated as expired.

Use nonfunctional props and original forms. Exclude IDs, keys, combinations and real files; authorized staff retain service and access decisions.
