Leather goods data for AI panel and hardware evidence

Luggage and other leather goods can contain several materials and hardware variants within one article.

Luggage and other leather goods can contain several materials and hardware variants within one article. FTC's leather-goods guidance provides public context for representing material accurately. A contributor can build a specific assembly exercise around panel identity and hardware attachment. FTC leather and imitation-leather guidance context

Make an original miniature bag pattern, fictional component list and tabletop assembly photos. Use two visually similar panels with different backing identifiers. Put the correct buckle on an incorrectly oriented strap in one case. Ask the model to compare the observed assembly with the instruction and identify which material claims have document support.

Label panel face and backing, hardware identifier, attachment orientation and source evidence. Hold out a different bag shape and hardware finish for evaluation. Score wrong-component association separately from a visible assembly error. A surface photograph should not establish the material hidden on the reverse side without a view or record supporting it.

Use original patterns and authorized sample materials. Customer designs, recognizable trademarks, licensed hardware drawings and supplier declarations require their own permission decisions. A licensing brief should identify this precise inspection task, the available views and the independently checked key. Confirm buyer fit before expanding to a commercial production archive.

Original Fiund exercise

A handle anchor that uses a different backing plate

An original miniature bag mockup uses inert paper hardware. The fictional assembly card has distinct variants for a handle and a flap.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
H1Exploded viewAnchor A is on handle panel; anchor B is on flap.
H2Assembly listA pairs with square backing K2; B pairs with oval backing K3.
H3Reverse photoSquare plate visible behind the flap; its exposed face carries K2.
H4Handle photoOnly front head is visible at A, so the backing shape cannot be read.

Question for the model

Which mismatch is visible, and what is unknown?

Show the reference answer and checks

At flap anchor B, K2 is visibly installed where K3 belongs: H1 locates B, H2 defines the pairing and H3 supplies the observation. The backing at A remains unknown from H4. The wrong part at B does not prove where K3 went.

  • Assuming the other anchor must have the complementary error
  • Classifying a backing plate from an indistinguishable front head

Fields to preserve

anchor_location
Distinguishes handle from flap joins
hardware_side
Records front-head versus backing evidence
pairing_reference
Identifies the valid plate for each anchor

Test another case

Mask the stamped code and show a plate foreshortened by perspective; require a view where shape can be resolved.

No designer patterns, source supplier pricing, authentic hardware identifiers or load claims.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
