INDUSTRY FIELD GUIDE
Industrial pump performance data for AI curve matching
A flow value belongs to a curve with a particular speed and configuration.
NAICS 333914 · Measuring, Dispensing, and Other Pumping Equipment Manufacturing
A flow value belongs to a curve with a particular speed and configuration. A pumping equipment shop can test whether an AI assistant checks those conditions before comparing head. DOE’s pump system guidance describes analysis of pumping performance and related tooling. The example here uses invented test results and a defined review task. DOE pump systems · DOE pumping system performance sourcebook
Put two fictional curves for the same pump family in a sample, with different speeds or impeller configurations. Record units, measured points, and the specimen’s authorized test setup. Include a reading that fits the wrong curve more closely. Ask the model to cite the relevant configuration, flag the mismatch, and decline to compare when head units are missing. A qualified reviewer should set the expected result.
Avoid proprietary performance maps, unpublished geometry, pump control settings, and recordings of energized or pressurized systems. This example supports test interpretation. Equipment selection and operation require qualified engineering review.

Compare flow and head from the same configuration row
A fictional table uses arbitrary readings and nonoperational speed and fixture names.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Request | Unit P6, speed S2, fixture F1; retrieve the pair at test point T3. |
| 2 | Row A | P6/S2/F1/T3: flow 14, head 9. |
| 3 | Row B | P6/S3/F1/T3: flow 18, head 10. |
Question for the model
Which pair should the reviewer use?
Show the reference answer and checks
Use 14 and 9 together from record 2. It satisfies all keys in record 1; record 3 uses a different speed. A larger flow or head is not automatically more relevant, and the toy pair does not support a real sizing conclusion.
- Picking the higher pair from a different speed
- Combining flow from one row with head from another
Fields to preserve
- test_configuration
- Defines speed and fixture together
- point_id
- Identifies the particular row
- flow_head_pair
- Preserves the joint observation
Test another case
Use a matched speed and point with a different fixture; require all configuration keys before matching.

Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
