NAICS 541870 · Advertising Material Distribution Services

A distributor can test whether software keeps packed quantities separate from assigned packets and returns. Census includes direct distribution of advertising material such as coupons, flyers and samples in this industry. Use a tabletop exercise to capture physical counts and matching records. U.S. Census 2022 NAICS manual

Prepare ten dummy packets and assign six to a practice team. Document two returns and include a pickup record for a second team that belongs to another batch. Ask which quantities are confirmed and which assumption about actual distribution remains unresolved. Have the reviewer reconcile IDs and counts independently.

Keep real neighborhoods, GPS tracks, doorbell footage, campaigns and customer addresses out. Use original printed props and clear rights for any video.

Describe a practice flyer distribution sample

Original Fiund exercise

Issued packets minus returns do not prove delivery to recipients

Ten original nonmailable paper packets and dummy team aliases support a tabletop count exercise. No real neighborhood, campaign, address, route or door recording is used.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
FLY1Practice batch B110 packets prepared. Team A receives 6; 4 remain unissued.
FLY2Team A return2 B1 packets returned. No recipient handoff or distribution log supplied for the other 4.
FLY3Separate pickupTeam B receives 3 packets from batch B2, not B1.

Question for the model

Which B1 inventory movements are supported, and can the four unreturned Team A packets be called confirmed distribution?

Show the reference answer and checks

FLY1 and FLY2 support ten B1 prepared, six issued to A, two returned and four originally unissued. Four issued packets remain unreturned, but no recipient-level handoff proves they were distributed. FLY3 concerns B2 and does not reduce B1's stock. Preserve prepared, issued, returned and verified-distributed states rather than treating an inventory remainder as completed delivery.

  • Calling every unreturned packet delivered without distribution evidence.
  • Subtracting another batch's pickup from B1 because the team activity occurred nearby.

Fields to preserve

Batch and team
Defines the custody boundary.
Prepared, issued and returned count
Makes the inventory arithmetic reproducible.
Recipient-handoff evidence
Separates missing stock from confirmed distribution.

Test another case

Add a confirmed handoff for only one of the four unreturned packets. Require a partial verified-distribution count and preserve the other three as unresolved.

Use original printed props and cleared footage. Exclude GPS tracks, neighborhoods, doorbell video, actual campaigns and addresses.
