Rope and cordage manufacturing data for AI construction records

Cordage specifications need a connection between construction, sample identity and the test actually performed.

Cordage specifications need a connection between construction, sample identity and the test actually performed. The Cordage Institute publishes industry technical material. A contributor can use that context to build a sample about evidence linkage without asking a model to estimate load capacity from appearance. Cordage Institute publications

Photograph original inert braided samples with labeled ends and supply fictional production and test-index records. Give two samples the same nominal diameter but different construction identifiers. Ask the assistant to match the documented test to the correct sample and identify a report whose sample field is absent. Include a cut section that reveals an additional internal element unseen in the first view.

Annotate visible construction features separately from declared material and recorded test results. Reserve a new color pattern for evaluation so color cannot serve as the identifier. Score wrong-sample matches, unsupported capacity claims and missed hidden structure independently. The expected response should cite the record or view supporting each statement.

Use harmless demonstration lengths and invented readings. Real customer constructions, licensed technical documents and outside test reports require authority before sharing. Explain the proposed evidence-review task to buyers and establish the requested metadata and annotation depth before planning additional manufacturing capture.

Tie a test entry to the exact braid specimen

Colorful inert braid mockups are shown with fictional sampling tickets. The task is evidence linking, with no real load test or fitness claim.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
R1Lot mapLot L18 has a trial braid and a standard braid; both are 6 mm nominal in this example.
R2Sample ticketSpecimen S72 taken from standard braid, tag ends green and yellow.
R3Report indexEntry J4: specimen S72, straight coupon; J5: specimen S73, tied coupon from the trial braid.
R4Photo labelThe displayed green/yellow braid includes no knot.

Question for the model

Which indexed test is traceable to the displayed braid?

Show the reference answer and checks

J4 is the traceable report entry. R2 connects the visible tag colors in R4 to S72 and R3 identifies J4 as the S72 straight coupon. J5 belongs to S73 and another preparation. The index establishes a link, without supplying test results or rated capacity.

  • Joining by nominal diameter and shared lot
  • Treating a tied-coupon record as equivalent to a straight coupon

Fields to preserve

specimen_id
Identifies the exact tested object
preparation
Separates straight from tied test evidence
tag_end_pair
Connects the photographed sample to its sampling ticket

Test another case

Reuse the color pair on multiple lots and mask the lot on the photo; require an unresolved visual linkage.

Do not use rigging records, actual break loads or capacity claims. The braid is a display sample.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
