Agricultural commodity program grade and market report data for AI

A market report can show prices for several grades and package units in the same table.

NAICS 926140 · Regulation of Agricultural Marketing and Commodities

A market report can show prices for several grades and package units in the same table. USDA Agricultural Marketing Service publishes Market News data. An agency can build an original comparability exercise that checks whether a model keeps the market, grade, unit and report date with each value. USDA Agricultural Marketing Service Market News

Build fictional tables for the same commodity under two grades and two packaging bases. Make one report an explicit correction and leave a conversion quantity missing. Ask which observations support a comparison and which must stay separate. Score the measure and source version.

Use invented values or approved public extracts. Keep private supplier records, facility locations and nonpublic inspections out. Preserve source definitions and date.

Original Fiund exercise

A corrected commodity quote still needs a matching grade and package basis

An agency-authored fictional market table uses abstract price units, grades and package names. It supports source comparison without a real price recommendation or private supplier record.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
CMG1Report R1 for market M/day 1Grade A: 20 units per package P. Grade B: 16 per package P.
CMG2Authorized R1 correctionGrade A corrected to 22 per P; Grade B unchanged.
CMG3Report R2 for market M/day 2Grade A: 11 units per package Q. Q-to-P quantity conversion absent; no correction relationship to day 1.

Question for the model

What current day-1 values are documented, and can the day-2 Grade A quote be called half the corrected day-1 value on a comparable basis?

Show the reference answer and checks

CMG2 makes day-1 Grade A 22 per P, while CMG1's Grade B remains 16 per P. CMG3 gives Grade A 11 per Q on another day but supplies no Q-to-P quantity relationship. The numbers alone do not establish a halving on a comparable package basis. Preserve market, grade, unit, date and correction scope rather than comparing unlike packaging or changing untouched Grade B.

  • Comparing per-Q and per-P values as though the packages were equivalent.
  • Applying a Grade A correction to every grade in the report.

Fields to preserve

Market, commodity and grade
Defines the observation identity.
Price unit and package quantity
Makes comparability explicit.
Report date and correction scope
Preserves historical values and the authorized replacement.

Test another case

Supply an explicit fictional conversion of Q=one-half P and ask for normalized values with the transformation cited. Keep original reported values alongside the calculation.

Use invented tables or separately approved public extracts. Exclude suppliers, facility locations and nonpublic inspections.
