Bowling frame and score revision records for AI
A scoring correction can change one frame without affecting the match identity.
NAICS 713950 · Bowling Centers
A scoring correction can change one frame without affecting the match identity. USBC publishes rules and scoring equipment context. A bowling center can create a synthetic record set to test whether an assistant attributes a correction to the right game. USBC basic rules · USBC equipment specifications
Create two dummy games with similar start times. Assign a reviewed correction to one frame. Give the other a note referencing a different game. Ask which score entry is supported and what cannot be attributed. Keep game, frame and lane aliases visible and use wholly artificial scores.
Do not share player records, surveillance, actual league data, equipment configurations or proprietary scoring files. Use independent examples and keep official score review with staff.
Describe a bowling records exercise
Original Fiund exercise
A reviewed frame correction belongs to one game
Two dummy games have similar start times and artificial stored frame values. The task applies an explicit correction record without calculating bowling rules or issuing an official score.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| BW1 | Practice games | Game G1 on lane A and G2 on lane B start at 10:00. Stored frame-4 values are G1=12 and G2=9. |
| BW2 | Authorized correction | G1/lane A/frame 4 corrected from 12 to 10. All other entries unchanged. |
| BW3 | G2 attachment | Note repeats G1 frame-4 correction with no G2 authorization. No match-total recalculation record supplied. |
Question for the model
What current frame-4 values are supported, and does the attachment establish a correction or new match total for G2?
Show the reference answer and checks
BW2 changes G1's stored frame-4 entry to 10 and leaves other entries intact. G2 remains at 9 under BW1 because BW3 still names G1. The shared start time and attachment location do not authorize a G2 correction. The packet also supplies no recalculated match total, so report the corrected entry rather than inventing official scoring consequences or a completed review for the other game.
- Applying a frame correction to every game starting at the same time.
- Reporting a new official total when only a stored entry correction is supplied.
Fields to preserve
- Game, lane and frame
- Disambiguates similarly timed score records.
- Authorized old-to-new entry
- Makes the correction exact.
- Entry versus total state
- Separates a local revision from a broader scoring calculation.
Test another case
Move G2 to lane A later in the practice timeline. Require game identity and event time rather than lane alone when matching the earlier correction.
Use invented values and cards. Exclude players, league data, surveillance, equipment configuration and proprietary scoring exports.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
