FREE PODCAST TOOL
Podcast RSS catalog audit
Know what is listed in your feed before estimating the size of your archive. Read a local RSS 2.0 export or paste its XML. The tool inventories episode metadata without visiting the feed or downloading recordings.
No signup. Tool inputs stay in this browser and are not attached to assessment links. Standard site analytics measure visits and tool actions. Inputs are not saved. Download your work before leaving.
Paste the feed contents rather than its URL. This tool never fetches the feed or downloads episode media. It supports up to 5,000 listed episodes. Some feeds expose only the newest part of an archive.
How to use this tool
- Download your RSS XML from your host or copy the feed contents into the tool. A feed URL alone is not sufficient.
- Review listed runtime, missing durations, repeated GUIDs, repeated media URLs and other metadata flags.
- Download the episode CSV and reconcile it with the original files and any episodes omitted by your feed.
Reconcile feed records with source recordings.
The feed may list a trailer, repeated episode, edited mix or recent-only subset. Match the exported GUID and title to your own episode identifier, master files and permission references. The CSV includes listed media URLs. Remove private tokens and other details before sharing it.
Use the Media Dataset Inspector for local source-file metadata, then the archive readiness checker for the follow-up review.

Why do I paste XML instead of a feed URL?
The inventory runs in your browser and does not send a feed address to a server. Your host may offer an RSS export, or you can save the feed contents as an XML file. Private feeds can contain credentials, so review the export before sharing it.
Does this count every episode I have recorded?
Only the items in the supplied RSS document are counted. Hosts may limit feeds to recent episodes, and unpublished or archived recordings may be absent. Reconcile the inventory with your own storage.
How are unknown durations and repeated entries handled?
Unreadable durations are marked unknown and excluded from the runtime total. Repeated GUIDs and media URLs are flagged for review and remain in the inventory. The tool does not automatically merge or delete rows.
Does the inventory establish usable licensing hours?
No. Feed runtime can include ads, music, duplicate episodes, compression and material with unresolved permissions. Compare the listed files with your original recordings and review rights before estimating an eligible subset.
