FREE PODCAST TOOL

Podcast archive readiness checker

Start with one episode whose original files you can find. Record what has been reviewed and what still needs work. Download the follow-up checklist and keep the evidence in your own storage.

No signup. Tool inputs stay in this browser and are not attached to assessment links. Standard site analytics measure visits and tool actions. Inputs are not saved. Download your work before leaving.

Use one representative episode. Keep names, recording links and private agreement text in your own records. This checklist asks for status only.

Can you locate the original recordings?

Record where the masters, separate speaker tracks, camera files and transcripts are held. A public RSS file may be an edited distribution copy.

Have you documented who controls the recordings?

Check producer, employer, network, commissioning and co-host agreements. Keep a reference to the evidence rather than relying on the show name.

Have the speaker permissions been reviewed for the proposed AI use?

Map guest and co-host permissions to the episodes they cover. An ordinary recording release may need further review.

Have you marked third-party segments and restrictions?

Identify music, ads, stock clips, screen shares and other embedded works. Mark time ranges to exclude or review.

Have you reviewed private and sensitive material?

Check off-record remarks, contact details and sensitive discussion. Review audio, video and transcripts separately.

Have you checked distribution and existing licensing commitments?

Identify restrictions in host, network, sponsor, platform or prior licensing agreements. Record unresolved questions for a qualified reviewer.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose one representative episode and locate the original media and supporting records.
  2. Mark each area as reviewed, needing work or unknown. No names, recording links or agreement text are required.
  3. Generate the checklist, save a copy and use it to prepare a scoped podcast assessment.

Keep evidence attached to the episode.

A useful review record connects an internal episode ID, original files, speaker releases, time ranges to exclude and unresolved questions. A checklist answer should point to evidence in your own storage. Separate the public mix from the original tracks and review video and transcripts as well as audio.

Frequently asked questions

Does a completed checklist mean my archive is cleared?

No. The answers are self-reported preparation status. A qualified review must examine the recordings, actual agreements, participant permissions, restrictions and intended use.

Can I start if some guest releases are missing?

You can describe the archive and identify the missing records. Keep unresolved episodes or segments clearly marked. A smaller documented subset may be easier to assess than the complete feed.

Are my answers stored in my account?

No. The checker runs in this browser and does not save answers to a Fiund account. Download your checklist before leaving the page. A later assessment is a separate submission.

Where should I keep release forms and private records?

Keep them in your own controlled storage, connected to episode identifiers. Use the agreed review process if Fiund requests evidence. The checker does not need copies of contracts or personal information.
