A podcast’s advertising CPM does not establish its AI training-data licence price. Downloads measure audience reach; a dataset buyer evaluates usable recordings, conversation characteristics, available tracks, permissions and fit to a specific requirement.

No universal per-episode or per-hour podcast sale price is verified here. A useful valuation starts by separating the audio you can deliver from the production work and third-party material inside it.

Count content, not audience impressions

A podcaster recording a remote conversation from her home studio.

List episode IDs, elapsed duration, language, number of speakers and whether original isolated tracks exist. Count a one-hour two-person discussion as one hour of conversation; two isolated tracks are not two hours of distinct conversation. State both measures when quoting.

Remove or flag ads, music, licensed clips and guest segments whose permissions have not been established. Do not assume that publishing an episode proves authority for a separate training-data licence.

Why recording structure changes the quote

A mixed public MP3 and aligned original tracks are different deliverables. Separate tracks can help a buyer inspect overlap and speaker attribution, but do not establish a fixed price uplift. Report clipping, edits, missing channels and enhancement processing honestly.

Transcripts also vary: machine output, human-corrected text, timestamps and speaker labels are different products. Do not call a transcript verified because it exists. Quote correction and labeling as scoped work with a sample acceptance check.

Build a usable estimate

Create columns for total duration, excluded segments, duplicates and usable conversation time. For each proposed subset, show the licence amount separately from preparation costs and any contractual sharing. A buyer might want a small relevant subset rather than the whole show.

Hypothetical only: 20 episodes lasting 60 minutes each contain 20 elapsed hours. If five minutes per episode are excluded, the proposed subset is 18 hours 20 minutes before any other quality checks. Multiply an agreed rate by accepted time, not by downloads.

What to send Fiund first

Describe the shows, language mix, speakers, recording setup and source formats without uploading the archive in the intake form. Indicate which permissions and original tracks you actually hold. A representative sample and manifest can follow a review.

Fiund’s standard terms do not permit synthetic voice or likeness replication. Licensing assessment is not a commitment to buy your show, commission recording or guarantee ongoing royalties. Keep your originals while evaluating any proposal.

Frequently asked questions

Are podcast downloads part of the training-data price?

They can describe the show, but do not supply a conversion rate to dataset value. Quote the actual recordings and permitted use.

Is enhanced audio always better?

No. Preserve original recordings and identify processing. The buyer should evaluate the version suited to its task.
