Tour operator package changes and itinerary evidence for AI
Tour operators bundle transport, lodging or activities and may need to track changes at the component level.
NAICS 561520 · Tour Operators
Tour operators bundle transport, lodging or activities and may need to track changes at the component level. DOT publishes separate public charter consumer guidance. A tour operator can use an original land itinerary to show how a model should read revisions and confirmations without interpreting charter terms. DOT public charter flights · U.S. Census 2022 NAICS manual
Write a fictional three-day package. In the revised version, substitute one activity, retain the hotel and change the pickup window. Provide a supplier acknowledgment for the activity and leave the pickup confirmation missing. Ask which items changed, who acknowledged each change, and what the operator still needs to verify.
Use fictional schedules, vendors and participants. Use your own descriptions and artwork. Leave real traveler manifests, confidential supplier rates and partner contracts out.

Original Fiund exercise
An itinerary revision changes components whose supplier confirmations remain independent
An original fictional three-day land itinerary uses invented vendors and no travelers, rates, contracts or actual booking. It makes no statement about charter or travel rights.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| TO1 | Package P v1 | Hotel H unchanged for nights 1–2; activity A on day 2; pickup window W1 on day 1. |
| TO2 | Approved v2 | Replaces activity A with B and pickup W1 with W2. Explicitly retains hotel H and dates. |
| TO3 | Supplier records | Activity supplier acknowledges P/v2/B. No transport acknowledgment for W2; old transport card still says P/v1/W1. |
Question for the model
Which package components changed, which change has matching supplier acknowledgment, and what remains to verify?
Show the reference answer and checks
TO2 changes the day-two activity from A to B and pickup from W1 to W2, while retaining TO1's hotel H and nights. TO3 confirms the supplier's B acknowledgment for P/v2 but supplies no W2 transport confirmation; its W1 card belongs to the earlier version. Report the revised itinerary and each supplier state separately rather than assume one component's acknowledgment confirms the entire package or an unchanged hotel needs a new inferred booking.
- Applying one supplier's acknowledgment to every revised component.
- Losing unchanged hotel details or treating an old pickup confirmation as approval of the new window.
Fields to preserve
- Package version and component
- Defines the revision.
- Changed versus retained field
- Preserves amendment scope.
- Supplier acknowledgment target and missing response
- Supports the independent handoff.
Test another case
Add a W2 acknowledgment for another package P2. Require P's transport gap to remain despite the same window label.
Use original descriptions and artwork. Exclude manifests, supplier rates and partner contracts; no actual travel action is taken.
