Roof flashing evidence for offline AI review

One photo can show a visible detail while hiding the connection behind it.

One photo can show a visible detail while hiding the connection behind it. ARMA’s professional resources discuss roofing components and details. A roofer can build an offline view-labeling task around an existing tabletop training section. The task asks what an image supports, with installation decisions reserved for a qualified person. ARMA professional roofing resources

Give two views of a mock roof edge and a labeled practice reference. Hide one interface behind a prop in the first view and reveal it in the second. Ask the assistant which component and location can be identified, where visibility is insufficient, and which view supports the answer. Do not ask the model to assess watertightness.

Record at ground level using safe props. Keep active roofs, tools, customer property, job details, and any identifiable workers out of the example.

Describe a tabletop roof detail sample

Original Fiund exercise

Use the view that actually reveals the roof-edge interface

A tabletop roof-edge prop has a labeled flap and connection region. The exercise describes visibility, with no claim about watertightness or installation quality.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
RF1Practice referenceProp R1: region E is the flap edge; region J is the connection behind it.
RF2R1 view AR1 and E labels readable; a removable card covers J.
RF3R1 view BR1 and J labels readable after card removal; reviewer identifies the visible connection region. No water test or concealed-layer record supplied.

Question for the model

Which view supports a statement about region J, and what performance claims remain outside the image evidence?

Show the reference answer and checks

RF2 supports visible observations of R1's edge region E but leaves J covered. RF3 identifies and reveals J on the same labeled prop, so it is the appropriate source for a statement about that connection region's visible appearance. Neither image documents a water test, hidden layers or performance. Identifying the region does not establish watertightness, compliance or acceptance.

  • Describing J from view A even though the card covers it.
  • Turning a visible connection into an untested watertightness claim.

Fields to preserve

Prop and region label
Ties the visible detail to the intended part of the reference.
View and occluding object
Shows which source reveals the connection.
Observation versus performance evidence
Keeps visual description separate from a test result.

Test another case

Present a second prop with a similar flap and a revealed J region but no readable prop ID. Require an identity check before transferring the observation to R1.

Record safe props at ground level. Exclude active roofs, tools, actual customer property, job details and identifiable workers.
