Roadwork material ticket and placement data for AI
A delivery ticket can show that material arrived.
NAICS 237310 · Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction
A delivery ticket can show that material arrived. It may not establish where it was placed. FHWA’s e-ticketing and digital as-built program describes use of electronic records in highway construction. A contractor can prepare an invented data exercise linking a ticket to a segment and an authorized observation. FHWA e-ticketing and digital as-builts
Invent two tickets and two segments in a fictional paving log. Give one a confirmed placement and attach the other to an unrelated inspection by date alone. Ask which segments are supported, whether quantities represent delivery or placement, and which link must be verified. Keep the independent review as a separate record.
Do not use live sites, project pricing, client details, traffic plans, infrastructure locations, or actual ticket images without permission. No roadside recording is needed.

Original Fiund exercise
Delivery evidence and placement evidence use different quantity scopes
A fictional paving log contains two tickets and two abstract segments. No live road, traffic arrangement, material specification or project quantity is represented.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| RT1 | Invented delivery ticket D1 | 12 practice units delivered; destination job J, no segment field. |
| RT2 | Reviewed placement log | 8 of D1's units linked to segment S1, reviewed under observation O1. Remaining 4 have no placement allocation. |
| RT3 | Ticket D2 and attachment | D2 delivers 6 units. An inspection of S2 shares the date but contains no D2 reference or placement quantity. |
Question for the model
Which ticket quantity has a verified S1 placement, and what can the packet establish about D2 at S2?
Show the reference answer and checks
RT2 verifies an 8-unit placement from D1 at S1, distinct from RT1's 12-unit delivery total. D1's remaining 4 units have no supplied placement allocation. RT3 confirms D2's delivery and an S2 inspection on the same date, but not a relationship between them. Do not report D2 as placed at S2 or treat all delivered material as verified placement.
- Reporting all 12 D1 units as placed at S1 when only 8 are linked.
- Joining D2 to the S2 inspection solely on date.
Fields to preserve
- Ticket identity and quantity role
- Separates delivered from placed amounts.
- Segment allocation and observation
- Provides the explicit link supporting placement.
- Unallocated remainder
- Preserves material that lacks a placement record.
Test another case
Supply a D2 allocation to S1 rather than S2. Test whether the model follows that evidence despite the earlier same-day S2 attachment.
Use independent fictional records only. Exclude actual tickets, infrastructure locations, pricing, clients, traffic plans and roadside recording.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
