Lubricant and grease data for AI grade-basis review
NLGI explains that grease consistency and base-fluid viscosity are different properties.
NAICS 324191 · Petroleum Lubricating Oil and Grease Manufacturing
NLGI explains that grease consistency and base-fluid viscosity are different properties. This provides a precise task for a lubricant producer considering data licensing. A model needs the property together with its stated basis. NLGI consistency and viscosity FAQ
Create fictional product cards, a batch report and a customer request. Put a consistency entry beside a viscosity result with an explicit measurement condition. Ask the assistant to select the evidence answering each requested property. Include a report missing its condition and an older product card whose short grade number stayed the same. The key should identify both gaps without substituting one property for another.
Annotate property, unit, condition, sample lot and document version. Hold out a new table arrangement for evaluation. Score wrong-property substitution, unsupported comparison and use of the superseded card independently. Where the exercise requests arithmetic, supply its definition and inputs so the result can be reconstructed from the cited evidence.
Use invented values and self-authored documents first. Actual formulations, customer applications and outside laboratory reports need sharing authority. A licensing proposal should explain the property-selection task and qualified reviewer process. Establish the buyer's required product coverage and accepted data scope before preparing a larger archive.

A grade-like digit from a different attribute
Fictional material cards use deliberately simplified field names; they do not represent product recommendations.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Request | Select the record for pack K8 with consistency category 2. |
| 2 | Catalog | K8 has consistency category 2 and base-fluid class 8; K2 has category 8 and class 2. |
| 3 | Batch index | Report A covers K2 and report B covers K8; no physical readings supplied. |
Question for the model
Which report should the reviewer request?
Show the reference answer and checks
Request report B for K8 because record 2 identifies consistency category 2 for that pack and record 3 links it to B. The number 2 in K2's base-fluid class does not match the requested attribute. The index supplies identity, not actual test evidence.
- Matching any occurrence of the digit 2
- Equating an index link with reported measurements
Fields to preserve

Test another case
Provide multiple pack sizes of one material and a report scoped to the parent batch; distinguish pack ID from batch applicability.
No real lubricant grades, formulations, product selection guidance or customer data.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
