Flooring subfloor measurement data for AI review
A measurement in a flooring packet can be valid for one room and stale for another.
NAICS 238330 · Flooring Contractors
A measurement in a flooring packet can be valid for one room and stale for another. NWFA publishes materials on concrete subfloors and flooring installation. A contractor can build a fictional evidence task where the model must identify the right measurement, instrument and test location. NWFA concrete subfloor reference
Sketch a mock floor with two areas and label two sample measurements. Revise one after a second visit. Give the other an image with an unreadable location tag. Ask which reading can be attributed and which information is needed for comparison. Keep measured value, method and conditions separate. The test does not make an installation decision.
Use no actual property data, client documents, commercial product tolerances, or live testing. Use synthetic meter readings and an independently written answer key.
Describe a subfloor evidence sample
Original Fiund exercise
A later room reading replaces only the reading it actually revisits
A fictional flooring packet contains synthetic meter readings for rooms A and B. The task evaluates record identity, method and chronology without setting an installation threshold.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| FS1 | Visit 1 ledger | Room A, point A2: reading 32 under method M, instrument I1, June 2. |
| FS2 | Reviewed revisit | Room A, point A2: reading 28 under method M, instrument I2, June 5. Reviewer marks it the current A2 observation. |
| FS3 | Unassigned image | Meter displays 29; location tag unreadable; method and visit absent. Room B has no separately identified reading. |
Question for the model
Which reading is current for point A2, and what would be needed to use the 29 reading for Room B or compare the two visits?
Show the reference answer and checks
FS2 is explicitly the current observation for A2, at 28 under method M on June 5. FS3's unreadable location and missing method do not establish a Room B measurement. FS1 and FS2 can be reported as two recorded visits, but instrument and condition evidence must support any stronger comparison. No supplied threshold or record authorizes an installation decision.
- Assigning an untagged image to Room B because Room A already has readings.
- Declaring a material ready for installation from a lower number alone.
Fields to preserve
- Room and test-point identity
- Makes a revisit specific to a location.
- Instrument, method and conditions
- Supports assessment of whether recorded values are comparable.
- Observation date and supersession
- Identifies the current record without erasing history.
Test another case
Introduce a June 6 reading for another point in Room A. Ask the model to retain June 5 as current for A2 rather than selecting the latest room-wide timestamp.
Use invented meter displays and diagrams. Exclude real property data, client documents, product tolerances and live testing.
