INDUSTRY FIELD GUIDE
Electrical contractor data for AI starts with a controlled training setup
Electrical service companies know how technicians turn a messy symptom into a verified repair.

Electrical service companies know how technicians turn a messy symptom into a verified repair. Scale AI names electrical field services in its operational-data partnership. micro1 separately names electrical installations in its trade capture program. FineART shows a public use of step-level labels in physical AI. Confirm that a specific buyer accepts your task, permissions and recording conditions before collecting. Use an approved training board with a qualified instructor and follow your organization's safety procedures. Choose a benign task such as identifying mock breaker labels or documenting component positions on a de-energized trainer. A fixed camera can show the full board, while a first-person camera can show what the trainee looks at. Write the start state, hand action, visible component, result and unsafe or ambiguous examples as separate labels. Keep energized work, customer panels, proprietary drawings, access codes and site identifiers out of the collection. Avoid wearing any device that interferes with work, protective equipment or situational awareness.
A document-only first sample could be a reconstructed troubleshooting ticket that shows symptom, test type, diagnostic decision and outcome. A buyer can then say whether their goal is ticket triage, field-service reasoning, component identification, or video understanding. OSHA electrical standards
First step. Send a description of the trainer, proposed task and permissions. Hold recordings until the scope, safety and buyer requirements are agreed. Describe collection capability.
Original Fiund exercise
Read a mock label using the issued front-view reference
Paper-only diagrams represent a benign component-position task. No energized equipment, wiring instruction or real panel is involved.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| DIAGRAM-E1 | Original front-view drawing | Issued revision R1 labels position 3 as Alder. |
| DIAGRAM-E2 | Confirmed issued revision | R2 applies to practice board B and labels front-view position 3 as Birch. |
| VIEW-E3 | Practice image record | Board B is photographed from the rear. The matching orientation note states that the apparent left-right order is reversed. |
| REQUEST-E4 | Unissued change request | A proposed R3 would rename position 3 Cedar. No issue event is supplied. |
Question for the model
Which label is documented for board B's front-view position 3, and how should the rear view and proposed change be handled?
Show the reference answer and checks
R2 documents Birch for B's front-view position 3. The rear-view image must be interpreted using its supplied orientation note, rather than counting apparent positions as a front view. E4 is an unissued request and does not replace R2. The answer concerns diagram-to-view association only and establishes no circuit function, identification of real equipment or permission to perform work.
- Reading a rear view with an unmodified front-view orientation.
- Applying the latest proposed label without a corresponding issued revision.
Fields to preserve
- Practice board and issued revision
- Identify the drawing that applies to B.
- Reference direction
- Preserve front-versus-rear orientation.
- Position and label
- Keep the label attached to its documented coordinate.
- Change status
- Separate an issued instruction from an unissued request.
Test another case
Issue R3 for another practice board only. The assistant must preserve R2 for B despite the newer revision number.
Use original paper diagrams or an approved inert trainer with a qualified reviewer. Exclude live work, customer panels, protected drawings, access codes and real site identifiers.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
