Diagnostic substance data for AI lot and instruction matching

FDA publishes labeling information for in-vitro diagnostic devices.

NAICS 325413 · In-Vitro Diagnostic Substance Manufacturing

FDA publishes labeling information for in-vitro diagnostic devices. A diagnostic-substance producer can propose a document task that links a reagent lot to the instruction version and supporting control record actually supplied. FDA IVD labeling context

Write fictional reagent identifiers, a kit assembly record and two instruction revisions. Give a control record a specific reagent-lot reference. Ask the assistant which instruction belongs to the assembled kit and which control record can be linked. Include an instrument-format change in the later revision and a similarly named control from a different lot. The key should reject the name-only match.

Annotate reagent lot, kit, instruction revision, instrument reference and control-record identity. Hold out a new layout and naming scheme for evaluation. Score wrong-lot association, use of the old instruction and unsupported interpretation of a control value independently. The exercise should contain invented records and no patient data, diagnosis or clinical-performance claim.

Use self-authored documents and invented measurements reviewed by an appropriate specialist. Actual product instructions, customer submissions and outside laboratory material need permission for the intended AI use. A licensing brief should define the association task and checked key. Confirm buyer requirements before preparing a larger archive.

Original Fiund exercise

The insert revision boundary follows the component lot

Mock boxes and invented reagent identifiers exercise document control only; they are not diagnostic materials.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
1Kit travelerKit K50 uses component Q33.
2Insert registerInsert A covers Q01–Q30; insert B covers Q31–Q50.
3Pack imageK50 folder contains insert A.

Question for the model

Which insert record matches K50?

Show the reference answer and checks

Insert B covers the component lot Q33 in record 1 under the ranges in record 2. The photographed insert A in record 3 falls outside that range. Flag a document mismatch; these records say nothing about real diagnostic operation or performance.

  • Reading the kit number as the component lot
  • Selecting the revision merely because it was in the folder

Fields to preserve

component_lot
Determines document applicability
insert_revision_range
Defines the controlled lot window
observed_insert
Keeps packaging evidence distinct

Test another case

Use two kit components with different applicability rules and identify the insert scope for each.

No real instructions for use, specimens, patients, results or product disposition.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
