NAICS 336214 · Travel Trailer and Camper Manufacturing

Travel trailers and campers share a Census category with products that can present different visible configurations. An original visual task can preserve which state and view support a component observation. Census camper scope

Design a fictional folding paper camper with numbered panels and a state register. Photograph the open and folded props. Ask which view establishes the selected panel's identity. Include a panel hidden in the folded state and a similarly shaped panel from a second variant. The answer should retain an unresolved observation until a linked view supplies the marker.

Tag variant, state, panel, view, visible marker and transition event. Hold out another fold pattern for evaluation. Score a hidden identifier guessed, two variants merged and open-state evidence assigned to an unlinked folded view independently. The reviewer key should cite the view that resolves each observation and identify cases that remain unknown.

Use self-authored geometry and harmless props. Customer floor plans, licensed hardware drawings, supplier content and identifiable owner material need permission for the intended AI use. Define the state-and-view task and checked examples in the commercial brief, then confirm buyer acceptance before larger capture. The exercise supplies no towing, lifting or deployment procedure. Proposed software could help contributors connect views to states after its workflow has been validated.

Original Fiund exercise

A hidden panel is expected in the folded state

An original paper camper has numbered panels and reversible configurations.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
1State guideOpen shows panels P1–P3; folded hides P3 beneath P2.
2Image AFolded marker visible, P1/P2 visible, P3 absent from view.
3Image BOpen marker visible, P3 visible; P2 partly occluded by a prop.

Question for the model

Which missing view is expected and which is merely occluded?

Show the reference answer and checks

Image A's hidden P3 agrees with the folded reference. In image B, the open state expects P2, but the partial occlusion prevents a complete P2 assessment. Do not label P3 as missing from the build or conclude P2 is absent based on either crop.

  • Applying open-state visibility rules to a folded view
  • Treating occlusion as an absent panel

Fields to preserve

configuration_state
Selects expected visibility
panel_id
Matches features between views
occlusion_status
Differentiates hidden from missing

Test another case

Include an intermediate state with no reference visibility rule; keep observations without inferring completeness.

Paper model only; no actual camper dimensions, deployment instructions, vehicle suitability or safety claims.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
