Biomass fuel reporting-basis records for AI
A feedstock record can report as-received mass while another uses a dry basis.
NAICS 221117 · Biomass Electric Power Generation
A feedstock record can report as-received mass while another uses a dry basis. A model needs units and method before comparing amounts. EIA’s renewable energy and electricity reporting material provides context for fuel records. A generator can use a fictional example to test the assistant’s unit and basis checks. EIA renewable energy context · EIA Form 923 reporting data
Make two dummy tickets and mark the reported basis for each. Supply an authorized comparison for one pair with matching units, and leave a required field blank for another. Ask which comparison is supported and what information remains missing. Distinguish the supplier’s observation from the generator’s reviewed value.
Keep actual feedstock sources, fuel recipes, plant information, commercial quantities, rates and operational records out of the sample. Do not ask the model to manage fuel or equipment.
Describe a fuel records sample
Original Fiund exercise
Compare an invented fuel ticket on its stated basis
Fictional mass records illustrate reporting-basis checks. The exercise supplies no real feedstock, recipe, commercial quantity or fuel-management instruction.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| LOT-A-WET | Dummy supplier ticket | Lot A reports 10 kg as received. |
| LOT-A-REVIEW | Independent practice review | For this exercise only, Lot A's documented dry-mass fraction is 0.60, producing 6 kg on the dry basis. |
| LOT-B-WET | Different-lot ticket | Lot B reports 12 kg as received. No dry-mass fraction or dry-basis review is supplied. |
Question for the model
Which dry-basis amount is supported, and can Lot B's dry mass be calculated using the supplied fraction?
Show the reference answer and checks
Lot A has a supported 6 kg dry-basis amount under LOT-A-REVIEW. The 0.60 fraction is explicitly scoped to A. Lot B's 12 kg as-received value does not establish its dry mass, and A's fraction cannot be silently reused for B. Preserve lot, unit, basis and review method before comparing the amounts.
- Applying one lot's documented fraction to another lot without evidence.
- Comparing an as-received quantity directly with a dry-basis quantity as though they share a definition.
Fields to preserve
- Lot identity
- Keep the comparison method attached to the reviewed lot.
- Mass unit and basis
- Distinguish kilograms from the definition of the measured material.
- Review or conversion evidence
- Record which amount is supplied, calculated under the exercise or unresolved.
Test another case
Add a separately reviewed dry fraction for B, then change A's unit to grams. The evaluator must resolve both basis and unit before comparison.
All figures are invented. Exclude real fuel sources, plant information, recipes, rates and operational records. No equipment or fuel action is recommended.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
