Aircraft engine data for AI serial and document identity
FAA Order 8130.21J describes uses of Form 8130-3 for aircraft engines, propellers and articles under Part 21.
NAICS 336412 · Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing
FAA Order 8130.21J describes uses of Form 8130-3 for aircraft engines, propellers and articles under Part 21. A separate original exercise can test whether document references concern the requested serial and part identity. FAA release-document context
Create a fictional receiving index, serial register and generic document summary with neutral field names. Give two parts the same description and different serials. Ask which summary belongs to the selected item. Include a batch-only reference and a copy whose attachment is absent. The answer should retain the limits of what the index establishes.
Label part identifier, serial, batch, document reference, stated scope and attachment status. Hold out a new summary format for evaluation. Score description-only matching, batch evidence extended to an individual serial and a missing attachment imagined independently. Add a complete example with an explicit serial-to-document join, and ask reviewers to cite that field.
Use invented records without real release forms, signatures, certification marks or technical specifications. Engine-maker files, licensed maintenance content, customer property and controlled technical data need source-specific authority and specialist review. Confirm the buyer's accepted document task before preparing commercial records. The example supplies no airworthiness judgment, component installation authority or engine production guidance.

A receiving folder is broader than its document subject
Neutral office cards use entirely fictional serials. No real engine component or technical document is represented.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Receiving index | Folder F8 holds serial X17 and serial X71. |
| 2 | Document summary | Note N2 names X71; folder F8 shared. |
| 3 | Lookup request | Find a note explicitly covering X17. |
Question for the model
Does N2 satisfy the lookup?
Show the reference answer and checks
No. Record 1 gives both serials the same receiving folder, but record 2 names X71 alone. Record 3 asks for an exact serial match. Keep N2 linked to X71 and record the X17 note as missing rather than transposing the digits.
- Inferring subject from a shared folder
- Collapsing similar serial strings during normalization
Fields to preserve
- receiving_folder
- Groups records without defining scope
- part_serial
- Identifies the requested instance
- document_subject
- Records the serial actually named
Test another case
Use a document explicitly listing both serials and verify each listed key.
Administrative identifiers only; no aircraft design, propulsion parts, actual records or approval determinations.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
