NAICS 325199 · All Other Basic Organic Chemical Manufacturing

Other basic organic chemical manufacturing is broad, so a data proposal should identify its exact product and record task. The Census manual provides the scope. An original certificate exercise can focus on identity, document version and sample evidence. Census organic chemical scope

Create fictional compound identifiers, a product-alias glossary and two certificate versions. Correct only the sample identifier in the later version while keeping the measured values unchanged. Ask the assistant which shipment relationship is supported by the effective record. Add a customer request using an alias shared by two entries until an additional form field resolves it. The key should use that field rather than a familiar-looking name.

Label identity, material form, sample, shipment and correction status separately. Evaluation can rearrange the certificate and introduce a new glossary. Score wrong-identity matches, use of the old certificate and unsupported resolution of an ambiguous alias independently. A response should cite the evidence that resolves each association.

Use invented identifiers and values. Actual synthesis information, customer specifications and outside laboratory reports require permission for their proposed use. Describe the evidence-selection task and qualified reviewer key to prospective buyers. Establish the accepted source scope before preparing a larger chemical archive for licensing.

A legacy alias changed meaning between issue dates

A toy glossary lists fictional letter codes. The case contains no compounds, reactions or handling guidance.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
1GlossaryAlias R refers to ID O1 through June, then O2 beginning July.
2Certificate C1Issued June 18; alias R; no canonical field.
3Certificate C2Issued July 9; alias R and canonical field O1.

Question for the model

Which certificate has an identity conflict?

Show the reference answer and checks

C1 resolves to O1 under the June glossary interval in record 1. C2's July alias resolves to O2 by the same glossary, but record 3 explicitly states O1. Flag that conflict and avoid silently rewriting either field or assuming the material changed.

  • Resolving old aliases against the current glossary only
  • Ignoring a direct identifier when it conflicts with an alias

Fields to preserve

issue_date
Selects an effective glossary interval
canonical_id
Retains an explicitly stated identity
alias_conflict
Makes incompatible identifiers visible

Test another case

Show a corrected certificate issued in July that explicitly preserves a June effective identity; distinguish issue date from effective date.

No actual chemicals, supplier certificates, synthesis details or hazardous classifications.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
